Dubai Civil Defence mandates that all buildings with installed fire protection systems, such as fire alarms, sprinklers, fire pumps, hose reels or suppression systems, maintain a valid Annual Maintenance Contract with a DCD-approved company like Novosafe. Without one, a property can fail DCD inspections and face fines.
02How often should fire extinguishers be serviced?
Dubai Civil Defence requires fire extinguishers to be serviced at least once every year. After any use, even a partial discharge, an extinguisher must be refilled immediately. High-risk environments may need more frequent checks.
03How often do fire alarm and fire protection systems need maintenance?
DCD requires at least annual inspection and servicing under a valid AMC. For high-occupancy or high-risk buildings such as hospitals, warehouses and busy commercial spaces, quarterly inspections are recommended.
04Do you issue a DCD certificate after servicing?
Yes. Novosafe provides a DCD-compliant certificate after every service, refill, hydro test and AMC visit, along with a detailed service report you can present during civil defence inspections.
05When is hydro testing required?
CO2, stored-pressure DCP, water and foam extinguishers need hydrostatic testing every 5 years, and whenever a cylinder has been damaged, overheated or corroded. Cylinders that fail must be replaced, and we can supply a DCD-approved replacement immediately.
06Can you service equipment at our premises?
Yes. Our mobile teams inspect, service and refill extinguishers on-site across Dubai. Work that needs our workshop, such as hydro testing, is handled by collecting and returning your extinguishers, and we can provide loan extinguishers so your premises are never unprotected.
07Which areas do you cover?
We serve all of Dubai, including Business Bay, Downtown, DIFC, JLT, Jumeirah, Deira, Al Quoz and the free zones such as JAFZA and Dubai South, as well as Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman and the rest of the UAE.
